The article considers the participation of students of the direction "International Relations" in international tests in French as an element of building their individual educational route. The author proceeds from the position that this technology is especially relevant in modern conditions since it emphasizes the skills of students' independence in shaping the image of their professional future. The paper summarizes that acting as a candidate for a diploma on the success of passing an exam of this level qualitatively affects the professional development of an international specialist, outlines further prospects for his professional self-identification.
