ON INTERESTATE TRANSITIONS IN THE BELEBEEVSK DISTRICT OF THE ORENBURG PROVINCE (BY THE MATERIALS OF THE VII REVISION)

The article discusses numerous facts of the transition of the population of different categories to the bashkir estate in the Belebeevsky district of the Orenburg province based on the materials of the 7th revision (1816). Inter-class transitions contributed to an increase in the number of this privileged class. The author criticizes tendentious attempts to present estates as ethnicity.
