THE STUDY OF NATIONAL PARKS AS AN OBJECT OF ENVIRONMENTAL HISTORY

The article is devoted to the problem of the emergence of the concept of "national park" in the modern sense and understanding of this term as one of the most ambiguous nature conservation areas in terms of functionality. As part of the Environmental History, the process of the formation of national parks in the context of human interaction with nature is considered, the reasons for the appearance of this form of protected natural areas in historical discourse are shown, the general factors that influenced the emergence of national parks in the United States, as the first state that established this type of protected area.
