TEACHING DESCRIPTION AND ITS VARIETIES IN PROGRAMS AND TEXTBOOKS FOR GRADES 5-9 AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE SYSTEM-ACTIVITY APPROACH

Description is a functional and semantic type of speech, which is its typified variety as a model, a model of a monologue message in the form of an enumeration of simultaneous or permanent features of an object in the broadest sense and having a certain language structure for this. This type of speech has a complex structure, subdivided into business and artistic varieties. The materials reviewed in this article show that the work on the description of the subject, place, etc. should begin with an analysis of exemplary texts presented to students, and identifying in the process of conversation the typological features of the text and the features of a particular variety of this type of speech. When analyzing the existing programs in the Russian language, it turned out that the work on the essay-description by M. M. Razumovskaya was most clearly and constructively built. In this series of teaching aids, schoolchildren are not only provided (expanded and deep) with theoretical material from the "Speech" section, but are also given recommendations on the practical use of language tools in a descriptive type of speech.
