CANCELLATION CULTURE IS A NEW DISCOURSE PRACTICE: SOCIO-CULTURAL ASPECT

Semenova Olga Fiofanovna  (senior lecturer, applicant Baikal state university )

The modern communicative space is characterized by the manifestation of a new form of speech behavior - the culture of cancellation, characterized by the manifestation of criticism and aggression. This speech practice functions thanks to the media and the Internet in various areas of modern speech: political and business communication, professional and everyday life. The relevance of the study is determined by the modern demand for the regulation and control of speech behavior in the public sphere within the framework of constructive criticism. The article implements research tasks - to describe the linguistic essence of the culture of cancellation and to characterize the latter as a phenomenon characteristic of the communicative behavior of representatives of the linguocultural community. The linguistic method of discourse analysis is used as the main tool for analyzing texts with functioning variants of lexical units representing the action of cancellation, which makes it possible to identify the features of the communicative and evaluative activity of speakers. The purpose of this study is to identify the dominant critique of the phenomenon of cancellation culture as a sociolinguistic characteristic of a new discursive practice. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time the phenomenon of cancellation culture is considered from the position of criticism in argumentation, with the isolation of all components of the argumentative field.
