In this paper, the authors consider the problems of intensification of learning activities, current trends and challenges of distance learning. Overall, this research clearly demonstrates how educational technology can be oriented not only to the learning context, but also personified. As classical classrooms continue to be transformed into digital classrooms, educators are expected to use different ways of learning. The article focuses on relevant aspects of e-learning, presents the benefits and opportunities that contribute to more effective e-learning in educational institutions as well as the benefits for learners
