VIRTUAL GAMING REALIAS IN COMPUTER GAMES «ROME: TOTAL WAR» AND «TOTAL WAR: MEDIEVAL 2»

In this article the authors consider realias of «Rome: Total War» and «Total War: Medieval 2». The concept of «virtual gaming realia» is introduced, which is understood as a word or a phrase, that names artifacts or mentefacts of the virtual world, created by the imagination of computer game developers. It is made clear that realias of this kind might be borrowed from real or fantasy worlds (in which case they are reimagined, often acquiring new meanings) or created by the developers to describe in-game objects or concepts. It is discovered that together relias create virtual-gaming relicon - a unified intentional-aesthetic complex, necessary to depict virtual reality and used to create local, temporal and socio-cultural coloring of computer games.
