REPRESENTATION OF THE CONCEPT SPHERE “WEATHER PHENOMENA” IN V. NABOKOV’S ENGLISH LEXICON

The article analyzes ways of lexicalization of the concept sphere “Weather phenomena”, objectified in V. Nabokov's “Speak, Memory”. For the first time, a lexicographic approach is applied. A list of lexemes-representatives of the considered fragment of the writer’s worldview is compiled; some dominant lexemes are identified and analyzed; their specificity is studied; the semantic potential and peculiarities of the use of such words in the text of memoirs are revealed. As a result, the variety of linguistic correlates of the specified concept sphere in V. Nabokov’s idiolect, as well as differences in their semantic load and syntagmatic connections, are proved.
