THE MONGOLIAN LANGUAGE PICTURE OF THE WORLD AND CERTAIN DIFFICULTIES IN TRANSLATING A SOCIO-POLITICAL TEXT

The article is devoted to the translation problems that are associated with the peculiarities of the Mongolian language picture of the world. The purpose of the study is to analyse the main problems of interpreting the linguistic picture of the Mongols' world, to present ways and means of their translation into the Russian language. To achieve this purpose, we used the following research methods: comparative, distributive analysis, analysis of dictionary definitions. The research results presented in the article show that during transmission of the Mongolian language picture of the world, a translator faces such difficulties as mismatch of the pictures of the world of the source and target languages, the discrepancy of the differentiation of semantics and the specificity of the meaning of the lexical units, the lack of information about any aspects of an event in the source language, which causes certain ambiguity. For an adequate translation, a translator, as a mediator of intercultural communication, must penetrate deeply into another national world, national way of thinking and consciousness, understand clearly the differences in their own and others’ linguistic picture of the world.
