THE REPRESENTATION OF THE LANGUAGE CONFLICT SITUATION IN SCOTLAND: CONCEPTUAL ANALYSIS

The present article represents language conflict situation through the conceptualization of its elements in the representation of the certain ethnic group. On the basis of the research the conclusions were made on the representation of the linguistic conflict as the event sequence from the point of view of its description and conceptualization by the Scottish people. The sphere of concepts contains such concepts as CONFLICT, SCOTS, ENGLISH, GAELIC, LANGUAGE POLICY. The relevance of the article is determined by the study of the changes in the conceptions of the Scots and English languages from the 800 till nowadays.
