NOMINATIONS OF FEAR IN PROFESSIONAL JARGONS: STRUCTURE, SEMANTICS, CONTEXT

The article focuses on the nominations of emotions, emotives deriving from English professional jargons. The research material, the nominations of emotion ‘fear’, is used to compile the corpus of texts. The analysis of the studied emotives revealed the prevalence of the verbal type of emotive phrases, and nominations of a person in emotional state. Metaphorical models of the emotives are based on comparison of a person in a state of fear with the nature, artifacts and disease.
