This article is devoted to a complex but interesting period in the history of Russia – the reign of Peter I, the era of the formation of Russian statehood. Making transformations in all areas of life, Peter did not act alone. He managed to gather at his throne associates who were not indifferent to the fate of Russia. All of them not only accepted Peter's idea, his strategy and tactics of building Russia's foreign and domestic policy, but also made, each of them, their feasible contribution to the common cause. The authors of the article consider the socio-political views of four associates of the Russian emperor – A.D. Menshikov, B.P. Sheremetev, A.V. Makarov, S.L. Vladislavich-Raguzinsky, who are bright personalities who made an invaluable contribution to the development of Russia in the XVIII century.
