METHODOLOGICAL POTENTIAL OF THE LEXICO-SEMANTIC FIELD IN THE STUDY OF THE RUSSIAN VOCABULARY BY CHINESE STUDENTS

The article presents the experience of comprehending the methodological potential of the lexico-semantic field theory (LFS) in the practice of teaching Russian as a foreign language to a Chinese audience. The relevance of this kind of research is determined by the need to improve the educational process in terms of studying the vocabulary of the studied foreign language, which is the basis without which the formation of communicative competence becomes impossible. The article illustrates the possibilities of using specific and generic concepts of one LSP in order to explain to students the shades of meanings of words that are similar in meaning. In the course of achieving the goal of the study, it was found that the use of a field approach in the study of the vocabulary of a foreign language allows students to form clear ideas about the boundaries of the connotative and semantic meanings of words that have a similar interpretation, which contributes to the fact that in speech practice they can be more capacious to express your thoughts concisely.
