In the 1960s and 1980s, significant work was done in the education system of Azerbaijan in the field of improving the content, forms and methods of teaching. Since scientific, technical and social progress required not quantitative, but qualitative changes in personnel training, it became necessary to reorganize pedagogical technical schools (colleges). The transition to a new content of education required the improvement of the structure, forms and methods of organizing education. In those years, the following organizational forms of training were used in pedagogical colleges: lesson, excursion, laboratory and practical classes, seminar classes, course and diploma design, elective classes, circles of subject-technical creativity, independent work of students at home, consultations, group and individual classes with lagging and poorly trained students, etc. With the effective use of traditional forms and methods of organizing training in pedagogical colleges, the pedagogical process has been constantly improved. It is this experience that is used in determining the content of education in teacher training colleges in the modern era, the development of curricula, the introduction of new learning technologies.
