LANGUAGE POLICY OF THE SPANISH NEWS AGENCY EFE: STYLE GUIDES

This article is devoted to the topical issue of preserving of the Spanish language in the professional activities of journalists. The problem of correctness and a high level of language proficiency is especially acute not only in the field of Spanish-language media, but in other cultures. It is obvious that the modern reader is often guided by the style of a journalist. That is why the question arises about the language policy pursued by the editors of the leading publications. In this aspect, the language policy of the Spanish news agency EFE is of particular interest, which is not only the first to issue an editorial document for its journalists in Spanish, but also actively cooperates with the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language (RAE) in order to purify and improve the level of Spanish proficiency for both journalists and readers.
