One of the most common forms of open education nowadays is Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). The article discusses the main stages and features of designing online courses (creating a general concept of the course, developing a pedagogical scenario, writing scripts for video lectures, developing text materials, developing test tasks) using the language MOOC "Business English for the Oil and Gas Industry" of the Tyumen Industrial University as an example.
