Dyakov Anatoly Ivanovitch  (Doctor of Philology, Professor of Foreign languages and Russian philology department, Siberian University of Consumer Cooperation )

Filantseva Olga Anatoljevna  (Senior teacher of Foreign languages and Russian philology department, Siberian University of Consumer Cooperation )

The article examines the lexical material of the lexico-semantic group "Psychology" borrowed from the English language. Six lexico-semantic subgroups are considered, the features of their functioning are revealed. It is noted that the use of Anglicisms of this LSG correlates with the principles of communicative orientation and situational conditioning, and the excessive use of borrowed vocabulary in the presence of a one-word equivalent in the native language is unreasonable. The cases of functional syncretism are noted - along with the terminological function Anglicisms perform attractive, compressive, gap-filling, synonymous-differentiating, professionally attesting, socially marking and other functions.

Keywords:anglicism, psychology, functions, communicative orientation, situational conditioning
