THE CONCEPT OF "SILK ROAD": HISTORY OF FORMATION AND MODERN RECONSIDERATION

The purpose of this article is to consider the history of the formation of the concept “Silk Road” in the Chinese language from the 19th century to the present, namely, to give an idea of the main stages of development in Chinese culture of this concept and the term itself naming the concept; to trace the dynamics of its development; to identify the actual semantic potential of the concept.
