Proverbs and sayings are the favorite and widespread genres in the folklore of the Dargins – one of the nationalities living in the Republic of Dagestan. They are characterized by thematic diversity, ideological, aesthetic and artistic richness. Due to their brevity, conciseness, and extreme capacity, they have become an expression of folk wisdom, talent, his aspirations and expectations, his moral, ethical and moral foundations. The purpose of this article is to show the features of the ideological, aesthetic and artistic content of proverbs and sayings, as well as to consider the characteristic features of their ethnolocal originality.
