PARTICIPATION OF TATARS IN RUSSIAN-ASIAN TRADE IN THE NORTH-WEST OF THE KYRGYZ STEPPE IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX CENTURY

The main forms of Russian-Asian trade before the accession of the Kyrgyz steppe to Russia and the establishment of a protectorate over the khanates of Central Asia were caravan and transit-exchange. The dominance of the Tatars in such trade, which began in the first third of the XVIII century, was observed until the second half of the XIX century. and it is an example of peaceful, mutually beneficial cooperation with Asian peoples, which was an integral part of the multi-vector strategic course of the Russian government in achieving the main goal: protecting the eastern suburbs from nomadic raids, countering Great Britain in its quest for world expansion.
