SEMANTIC CONTENT OF THE MODALITY CATEGORY

The article deals with a topical issue related to the semantic content of the category of modality. The author emphasizes that the category of modality has been the object of close attention from scientists for many years, but in modern reality, more emphasis is placed on the content and methodological concretization of modality, as they become urgent tasks. The author comes to the conclusion that the complexity and inconsistency of the definitions of the concept of "modality", the confusion of classifications is due to the desire to cover all the new emerging facts and take into account new shades, which leads to the need for the reconstruction of classifications and the endless clarification of concepts. Thus, the possibility of defining a general modality invariant still remains one of the most urgent and basic questions in the characterization of modality.
