THE ROLE OF STUDENTS’ INDEPENDENT WORK IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES USING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Тhe paper is devoted to the study of the role of students' independent work in the process of teaching foreign languages. The article offers the ways of increasing the efficiency and intensifying the student's independent learning activity. The opportunity of revealing students' independence and self-directed learning in the process of education is discussed. The author substantiates the importance to use new forms of organizing such work, including using information technologies, which can be considered as a factor in improving the quality and obtaining the expected effect of the independent work of students. Characteristics are given, features are specified, various forms of organization of work in the process of teaching foreign languages are emphasized. The article discusses the main forms and methods of organizing students' work, investigates the main forms and functions of independent work and identifies the most effective personality-oriented methods. Characteristics of the main forms and methods to increase the students' motivation in independent work are provided as well. The paper deals with the forms of students’ independent work and gives practical advice to methods of teaching.
