A short–story fairy tale is a little-explored genre variety of the fairy-tale epic of the peoples of Dagestan, including the Dargins. Meanwhile, as folklore material shows, this type of fairy tales is of great interest, since it occupies an intermediate position between fairy tales proper and everyday ones. Short-story fairy tales are characterized by their own characteristics: in them, quite real life situations receive an extraordinary plot realization. Fiction in them is devoid of elements of magic, it is close to entertaining, which is reflected both in the theme of fairy tales and in its plot. The purpose of this article is to consider the genre features of Dargin short stories, as well as adventurous short stories and their plot-compositional and stylistic features.
