PEDAGOGICAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR EDITING AN ILLUSTRATED DATABASE: WAYS TO IMPROVE THE DISCURSIVE COMPETENCE OF STUDENT TRANSLATORS

The publication is devoted to the problem of using an illustrated database in the process of training student translators in foreign language speech activities. The subject of the study is the improvement of discursive sociocultural competence in written discourse through Internet tools that provide a comprehensive educational process. Purpose of the study: to present the basic principles of using graphic glossaries as a database format; formulate the main provisions of the methodology for improving discursive sociocultural competence in written discourse. The research methodology consists of: comparison method and comparative analysis – this methodology was developed on the basis of comparison and analysis of the functionality of specialized software; systematic method - the development of an illustrated database is considered as a necessary competency for professional translation using information technology. As a result of training using this methodology, written discursive sociocultural competence is improved, and, as a result, oral discourse is optimized in connection with the use of adequately interpreted and correctly commented sociocultural realities.
