THE IMAGE OF A HERO IN THE WORKS OF YU. SHESTALOV

This article is devoted to the analysis of the works of the Mansi writer Yu. N. Shestalov in order to consider and identify the image of the hero in literary works. The subject of the study is the works of Yu. N. Shestalov, published in his collections in different years. The image of the hero in the works of the Mansi writer Yu. N. Shestalov had not previously become an object of study in Mansi literary criticism. An analysis of the texts examined showed that the author turns to Mansi folklore when describing the hero, often more embellishing his appearance or manners. The author describes the fighting more emotionally than in the heroic songs of the Mansi people.
