ADAPTATION OF LIVESTOCK FARMING IN THE LOWLANDS OF THE ALTAI REPUBLIC TO THE ECONOMIC CONDITIONS OF THE 2000S

Difficult natural and climatic conditions of lowlands of Gornyi Altai for livestock farming forced the local population to look for new ways of adaptation to modern realities of life. Thus, some farms began to breed highly productive breeds of goats, pigs and poultry for obtaining livestock products. Local population uses horses actively in areas where tourism is developed. Horseback riding tours and horseback excursions are organized for a fee. Tourism contributes to the development of fish farming in the region.
