The historical conditionality of the First world war as a global conflict in the modern history of humanity

The article presents theoretical material of the First World War. The author analyzed a situation on the world arena, which had a place on the eve of this war. The aspect of the possibility of an alternative way of development of events, by passing the universal drama of 1914-1918, is presented for the world in general and for Russia in particular. The historical regularity of the fact that the basis on a military conflict on a global scale was formed by relations between industrial states is revealed. The position is substantiated that, having become a turning point in the history of the XX century, the events of 1914-1918. determined the further course of development of human civilization and marked the beginning of the chronology of a new historical era.
