Eremin Alexander Nikolaevich  (Professor, Doctor of Philology Kaluga State University named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky)

Potapova Valeria Vitalievna  (Student, Kaluga State University named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky)

This paper examines the semantics and pragmatics of the lexemes of the driver's jargon, which are called cars. The relevance of the work is due to the active development and replenishment of the lexical composition of the language in the automotive sector. The article shows that the jargon words formed as a result of mimicry of official car names to the usual commonly used words of the Russian language are the largest number. According to the authors of the article, the use of personal proper names for the nomination of cars reflects the subconscious perception of the driver of the car as a comrade and friend. There are a lot of metaphors among jargonisms, which are often formed on the basis of visual associations. Metonymic designations of cars are more rare. The paper uses methods of direct observation and comparison of the described tokens, methods of application and critical understanding of theoretical propositions to the material under study, etc.

Keywords:jargon and jargonisms, lexical mimicry, metaphor, metonymy, construction of reality.
