Correlations of the lexico-semantic field "Life way" in the French rap discourse

This article is devoted to the study of semantic correlations within the lexico-semantic field “Life path” in rap discourse. The material of the study was the texts of the leading French-speaking rap artists. The study reveals the widespread use of complete, expressive-stylistic and syntactic synonymy in rap texts. The dominance of antonymous groups of words, represented by contrarian, complementary and vector correlates, can be pointed out. The authors draw a conclusion that semantic correlations are an effective means of influencing the listeners’ consciousness.
