Stereotyped ideas about Great Britain on the basis of a sociolinguistic survey

The article deals with the issue of the emergence and change of stereotypes about British culture in Russia. The study was conducted on the basis of a sociolinguistic survey, which revealed the stereotypical perception of reality by informants, despite the large amount of reliable information about Britain and the possibility of easy access to it. Article materials can be embedded in several concept spheres for a more complete understanding of such dichotomies as «friend or foe», «friend-enemy», etc.
