The use of grammatical transformations in the translation of a literary text from English into Russian (based on Nicholas Sparks' novel “A Walk to remember”)

The article is devoted to the analysis of grammatical transformations in the translation of a literary text. The material of the study is N. Sparks’ novel "A walk to remember" and its translation by V. Sergeeva. The conducted analysis showed that the competent use of such transformations contributes to the achievement of adequacy in translation. The results of the study enrich translation practices, help to minimize cases of literalism that can lead to a loss of meaning conveyance.
