AUTHOR IN MODERN RUSSIAN DRAMATURGY

Spirina Kristina S.  (Senior Lecturer at the Department of Directing Theatrical Performances, Perm State Institute of Culture)

The article examines the features of a new phenomenon in Russian drama – narrativization, i.e. inclusion of a narrative element in the drama. This process actualizes the manifestation of the author’s voice, which is not characteristic of the nature of drama. Contemporary Russian plays of 1996-2018 are analyzed, where the ways of realizing the author's presence are expressed through metanarrative and metafictionalism. Metanarrative is understood as the author's self-reflection in the text of the play; metafictionality is the emphasized fictionality of what is happening through the author's remarks and comment.

Keywords:narrativization, metafictionality, metanarrativeness, narrator, actor, author.
