«LETTERS FROM RUSSIA» BY SPANISH WRITER JUAN VALERA: RUSSIANISMS IN THE FIRST EPISTLE

This article is devoted to the work of the Spanish diplomat and writer Juan Valera, dedicated to his journey to Russia, and the Russianisms contained therein. This is the first work of its kind in Spanish, there is almost no research on it, which determines the relevance of the article. It provides historical information about the work and the time of its creation, a summary and analysis of the Russianisms given in it. When writing the article, the descriptive method and the method of comparative analysis were used. As a result of the study, the Russianisms that first appeared in the Spanish literary text (and then in the Corpus of the Spanish language) were identified, and the features of their transmission by Valera in Spanish were analyzed.
