In today's context, the issue of linguistic support for the digital educational environment is particularly important, as the emergence of new concepts and phenomena in online education is accompanied by neologization processes and the formation of lexical gaps, which requires their understanding within the framework of linguodidactics. This requires analyzing how language adapts to digital transformation and what strategies are used to fill terminological gaps in modern linguodidactics.
The purpose of this study is to examine the linguodidactic aspects of neologization and lacunarity in the context of the digital transformation of the educational system, expressed in the development of online education.
The study utilized linguistic analysis, comparison, and classification methods to identify and systematize neologization and lacunae processes in English-language online education discourse. A comparative analysis was employed to study translation strategies, as well as a contrastive analysis to identify the lack of direct equivalents in Russian and propose new lexemes.
It was established that neologization and lacunae processes in online education reflect the dynamics of digital transformation and the formation of a new lexical system. English-language terms emerging in educational discourse often lack direct equivalents in Russian, complicating translation and requiring adequate solutions. Classifying lacunae and analyzing translation strategies allow us to systematize these difficulties and propose ways to overcome them. The creation and adaptation of new Russian lexemes contributes to the formation of a unified terminological base necessary for effective intercultural communication.
