Philology is to convey the accuracy and clarity of ideas through language, and imperative sentence can make us understand the narrative process more clearly, determine the communicative intention of the speaker, reflect the character, motivation and various emotional connotations. At present, be it character dialogue or narrative process, there is still a lot of space to study the functional semantic features of imperative sentences in Bulgakov's literary works. This dissertation takes Bulgakov's novella " Heart of a Dog " as an example to explore the functional semantic features of Russian imperative. The author uses contextual analysis method, functional semantic analysis method, deductive and quantitative methods to analyze the various expressions and linguistic features of imperative semantics in literary texts, as well as the personalized language styles in Bulgakov's works. This dissertation proves the expressive force and functional semantic features of imperative sentences in Heart of a Dog in conveying the speaker's subjective will and giving the text the implied additional meaning, explains how Bulgakov reflects the author's creative intention and vivid artistic expression, and constructs the vivid character images in Heart of a Dog through the use of imperative sentences.
