Scientific study of the socio-economic situation of the nomads of Yakutia in the 1950s-1980s

The first attempt in Russia's historiography to analyze of the scientific activities in the study of the life of the nomads of Yakutia during the period of intensive Soviet modernization of the Arctic presents in the article. Conclusion about the serious attention of representatives of the scientific community to the social and economic problems of the nomads of Yakutia was formulated. It is noted that this attention was largely correlated with the position of the Soviet Union government in forcing the transfer of nomads to a settled way of life.
