The sign-contextual model of learning as conceptual basis for improving the language competence of students

The problem of language competencies formation in the modem information environment in many ways bases on the need for a deeper insight into the communicative process, as well as the development of more general, systemic ideas about the language. This article analyzes the application of the constructed model to the problem of formation of linguistic competence of students of non-linguistic universities and the expediency of introduction of sign and contextual learning technologies as a tool to realize the approaches to the development of these competencies.
