The object of this research is the regularities of spiritual and moral development of personality at different stages of its ontogenesis in the Orthodox family. The urgency is due to crisis of the institution of the family worldwide. This makes us turn to traditional values and methods of education, the guardians of which are Orthodox pedagogy, Orthodox Church-bound family. The research methodology is based on theoretical scientific methods of generalization and systematization of literature — pedagogical, psychological, sociological, philosophical, theological; and analysis of modern sources — interviews of priests, Orthodox teachers, psychologists, teachers, recorded and published by the journal of spiritual and moral culture "Pokrov" in 2013-2019 under the guidance of one of our authors. The scientific novelty of the study is due to the development of a map of the age of spiritual and moral formation of a child in an Orthodox family. The article concludes that the spiritual and moral education in the Orthodox family takes place mainly in the preschool and primary school periods. This is confirmed by the results of a number of international sociological studies, which concluded that early religious socialization (up to 12 years) significantly affects the basic values of an adult, the birth rate and the state of his family.
