Suffixation as a way of formation of neologisms in French slogans (on the material of the press).

Matyushenko M.   (post-graduate student, Moscow Region State University; teacher, Russian Foreign Trade Academy Ministry of economic development of the Russian Federation )

This study is devoted to the study of French neologisms, penetrating into the mass consciousness through newspaper slogans. The slogans analyzed by the author differ from the headlines to the article by their ambivalence: nominative slogans used in the press are a kind of headlines, at the same time they are categorical, created to influence national and social worldviews, and not just to inform recipients about the events taking place in the world. Slogans form concepts, sell ideas and fashion, events and attitudes to them, dictate public opinion, thus forming the linguistic competence of native speakers, replenish the vocabulary of the readership with new words and their meanings. The material for the work was neologisms formed by the suffix method, selected by the method of continuous sampling from the French press. The study analyzes the slogans representing the headlines of such modern major French publications as Le Monde, Le Figaro, Le Point, Nice-Matin, Libération, including the independent French Internet publication Médiapart for 2016-2019. The analysis of neologisms in the mass media was carried out using the latest corpus of business and socio-political vocabulary of the French language.
