The problem of gender equality in the olympic sport

The article analyzes the activities of the International Olympic Committee to achieve gender equality in the Olympic sport. The development of the Olympic games program and the inclusion of sports, disciplines and competitions with women's participation is considered. The article analyzes the participation of women in the administration of the Olympic sport. Examples of various forms of activity of the International Olympic Committee to overcome the gender imbalance in the Olympic sport are given. Based on the analysis of the composition of the Russian Olympic Committee and its documents, the authors conclude that there is insufficient representation of women in governing bodies at various levels in Russian sport.
