The aim of this paper is to identify some of the most promising trends in enhancing student learning in higher education, to analyse the opportunities offered by technological tools and the contexts in which these capabilities are used. The findings highlight some of the features inherent in digital learning technologies. In particular, having digital tools or platforms with human-computer collaboration capabilities can improve automated processes for blended learning. In this context, digital technologies such as the use of learning modules and intelligent tutoring systems can improve the effectiveness of collaborative teaching and learning activities.
