The role of studying the history of medicine in the self-determination of students in profile education

The article considers the relevance of studying the subject "History of Medicine" in medical specialized education at the resource center "Medical Sechenov Pre-University". A brief review of the development of medicine is made, from ancient times to the present day. The test "Check your professional inclinations" was carried out. The results of the study showed that the majority of children consciously chose their future profession related to medicine. The History of Medicine subject provided students with new knowledge about the centuries-old experience in treating diseases of different peoples and played a key role in choosing a profession.
