DISCUSSION AS AN EFFECTIVE METHOD OF FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS GENERAL CULTURAL COMPETENCIES

The effectiveness of the discussion within the framework of the work of the student scientific society in the formation and development of general cultural competencies of students is substantiated. Its possibilities are considered as one of the methods of active learning, and the conditions that allow realizing these possibilities. The importance of holding events focused on philosophical problems in student scientific societies is emphasized and examples of specific round tables using this method are given. The discussion is considered not only as a way to activate oral communication skills and the ability to build speech logically correctly, but also as an effective means for the formation and development of the ability to analyze worldview, socially and personally significant philosophical problems, readiness for a tolerant perception of social and cultural differences. The discussion is considered as a form of collective mental activity that can be used in various educational situations.
